New UK based public workshops will be announced shortly for Q2 and Q4 of 2019. If you would like to be updated when these dates are available please let us know.
If you are interested in hosting your own tailored ROS-I training for your company or institution please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements.
We run both public and on-site ROS-I training with a core 3 day syllabus with additional prerequisite and advanced days.
Core topics include an introduction to ROS, its basic concepts as well as the associated programming tools. The second and third days are dedicated to applications of ROS both for manipulators (robotic arms) and navigation (mobile robotics).
These days include understanding how to define a custom robot and manipulation using the MoveIt! application. Navigation is explored through SLAM and Path Planning workshops. Both application days work with simulation and hands on experience with physical hardware.
Prerequisite / Advanced
The prerequisite day covers topics including Linux and Shell basics, as well as a practical introduction to the Python programming language. Advanced topics include Statemachine-based Programming Tools and Best Practices from development to release.
For more details please see the agenda of previous public editions.
ROS-Industrial is an open-source project that extends the advanced capabilities of ROS to manufacturing automation and robotics.
Workshop content is co developed with members of the ROSin initiative. The instructors of these sessions received training under the EU ROSin project, funded under the H2020 work program contract no. 732287
"Truly amazing intro to ROS; excellent balance between breadth and depth. You get a good overview of what’s possible and enough info / exercises to make it become reality! Inspiring instructors and excellend handouts! I can only recommend this course!"
Davy Van den Bosch
"The course is very informative, a well structured overview not only of ROS as a software, but a lot of the current state of the art robotic control workflows as well."

"Great intro to ROS. Good mix of theory and practice. Really enjoyed the workshop"
Vincent Huyybe, University College London
"I have had a great ROS experience while attending this workshop! I would recommend it to people interested in finding out why more & more people are using ROS in their Robotics applications / solutions."
H. Marin-Reyes, The University of Sheffield
"The workshop has provided me with a good overview of ROS and helped me quickly get started so I can start using it straight away. The instructors were great, I met interesting people from various backgrounds and am overall more aware of the developments taking place in the world of robotics. And the cakes were outstanding!"
